The available field-tested technologies developed in EU and not-EU Countries for the disposal and reclamation of oil mill by-products were investigated. A list of 146 technologies was created and put on-line in the project web site www.lifeoleicoplus.it. A questionnaire was drafted and translated in 5 different languages. Of the 121 questionnaires distributed to the technology owners 34 were returned filled in. After gathering the information, 7 technologies were classified as Energy, 8 as Industrial and 19 as Agricultural. Suitable criteria for ranking were chosen and a minimum score was identified. Six technologies were selected for further evaluation. Pilot plants of 11 technologies were visited and data sheets were prepared
