Action 2 - Territorial analysis and legislative framework in force

A study defining the main olive-cultivated areas in Europe and the types of plantation which are commonly used was performed. The collected information was related to the climate and geographical features of Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece. The tree varieties and the type of processes were generally characterised, quantified and related to local edaphoclimatic conditions, geomorphology and availability of natural water resources. Besides, the environmental legislation regulating the OMW management at both European and national level was collected and compared.
