Co-digestion

Anaerobic digestion process of the omww for the production of biogas. The technology is suitable for the implementation inside a municipal waste water treatment facility.

Aerobic biological treatment

The technology consists of three main processes: a) aerobic oxidation of OMWW in a trickling filter (reactor); b) evaporation of the pre-treated wastewater in a constructed wetland and c) leaves, pomace and sludge composting

Pellet

The process consists of a mechanical mixing of cork industry residues, namely cork dust (main producers: Portugal and Spain), with residues (92% of 2-phase pomace) and effluents (84% of OMWW) from olive oil production units thereby producing a sludge or pulp that can be used, after drying, as a energy source. The mixture can also contain leaves, OMWW, pomaces from 2 or 3 phase processes, salt solutions and pulp at different percentages.

Composting

Three different "recipes" to obtain good quality compost from the mixture of olive mill residues with other kind of agricolture/zootechnic residues.

Elettrocoagulation

The process consists in consecutive purification stages as follows: homogenization; prefiltration (0.3-0.5 mm), electrocoagulation (Fe); flotation; pH regulation; security filtration; sludge treatment (dryness); if necessary, biological treatment.

Phytoremediation

The patented phytoremediation process is carried out in a waterproofing basin (reservoir) that consists of two parts, the lower for the OMWW storage and the upper for the trees growth. A subsurface irrigation system is realised in order to recirculate the OMWW at the root level.

Tirsav and Tirsav+

The process is an in situ biostabilization process based on mechanical mixing of olive with residues with raw hygroscopic bulking agents (straw, wool waste, sawdust, olive leaves, twigs and pruning).

E.H.O.

The treatment is based on the thermal evaporation of the waste water and at, the same time, under controlled temperature and oxygen conditions, the hydrolysis and oxidation of the organic substances.
